As you move to a new city, this is the second of two articles we have developed to make you aware of all the possible and possible mistakes that (somehow) could happen. Make sure to read both and save yourself most (if not all) probabilities of causing you unwanted trouble.
1. Do not be too relaxed
If you plan to call the cheapest movers, sit back and relax, expect the movers to do all the work just because you signed few checks so my friend, at the end of the day, you could make a big mistake. Some moving companies may actually try to fool you, mishandle your business or even knowingly or unwittingly misplace them.
The best way to avoid such an event is to do your research before moving. Read reviews, talk to friends and family and ask for quotes from different moving companies before finalizing one. Check if the company is authorized, check if your move is insured and read your contract correctly before signing it.
2. DO NOT PLAN TO DO IT YOURSELF.
On the day of the move, you might think of calling a few friends, packing all your goods into their cars and moving around saving a lot of money that could have been spent on a packer service. This could be a good idea if you are moving to a smaller distance. However, this plan can really go wrong if you move a long distance.
The best way to avoid this is to think of the benefits that a professional moving company can offer. You can opt for insurance coverage for your valuables, better packaging for fragile items, and proper disassembly and packaging for bulky furniture. In addition, if you move from one highway to another, fuel taxes and tolls can increase your costs. Also, think of the heavy loads that you will have to do in the absence of a professional mover.
3. MAKE A CHECKLIST.
This one is funny. Now, you've started packing your stuff a few days in advance, you've put everything in order, packed and repaired all your valuables and fragile items with all the care of the world and now you're just waiting for them movers up. Everything seems sorted until you realize you have no idea what's in the boxes.
The best way to avoid this is to make a checklist when you pack each box accordingly. Making a checklist will save you a lot of time during unpacking and also ensure that movers handle sensitive items with care and leave nothing behind.
If in one case (God forbid) things go wrong and you might need to ask for insurance, the checklist will be a big help!
As this whole process can be cumbersome, many of our customers prefer to leave the packaging to the experts.
4. RENT AN APPROPRIATE CONTAINER
This is one of the most common mistakes people make when moving. They pack almost everything in the vehicle of movers and packers.
Instead of putting everything away in a large vehicle, you can consider carrying smaller and fragile items through your own car. This not only increases the space for larger items such as furniture but also ensures the safety of your delicate items.
However, we will always recommend this measure only when the budget is of great concern to you and you do not want to lose a few extra rupees on a big truck.
5. Do not break the law
Do you know that hunting rifle, that knife or bow you're so proud of? Well, are you sure it's legal to own in another state? Or do you have a collection of vintage wines and whiskeys that you plan to take with you? If so, is it legal for your mover to bring them across a state line? You would be surprised to see what types of items you are not allowed to wear on state lines or own these items in some states. Check well in advance the local laws and regulations of your future city or state.
While this one covers some basic do's and don'ts of packers and movers, the other article is a frank and covers a wider range of issues. Make it read!
The dynamic improvement of technologies in the world has had an impact on the standard of living of the population. People are looking to move from one place to another for a variety of reasons. The residential transfer and business transfer market have been booming lately. They moved from one place to another to make a good presentation to create a positive impression on visitors and customers. Regardless of the reason for relocation, it is a stressful activity. The completion of the project requires a great investment of time and patience. Hiring a professional service like Packers and Movers Bangalore will make your relocation program hassle-free. Everyone wants to make hard-earned money on purpose.
A typical Indian spirit would think of completing the work on oneself rather than investing the money to complete the project. It's not a good idea always. It is good to analyze the reasons why you need a professional service for your relocation program.
Lack of time:
Today, the wife and the husband regularly spend a busy schedule to achieve their goals. In these busy scenarios, time is money for everyone. You must use this little time available before. When you want to move from one place to another, you will both have a very hectic task. You may need to start the resettlement program well before your resettlement date. The limited time available after office hours will eventually pack the goods. This can make your day hectic and you cannot be productive at work during these days. Instead, you can take help from professional packers and movers who can perform the relocation in a day or two. You will save a lot of time by spending very little money.
Valuables:
When you have to move valuable goods from one place to another, you must be careful. Any negligence in the packaging can cause significant damage to the product. You must also ensure that these goods are loaded into the vehicle with care and special attention must be paid to the products during transit. This is the situation where you need the services of professional packers and movers in Bangalore. They ensure the protection of your project at every stage of the move. You will receive insurance coverage for the product during transportation
New location:
When you have moved completely to the new location, you may have several other tasks to complete in the new location before you go to work. Few things like looking for a good school, looking for other basic amenities in your location are very important. You can also explore the new location with the family at the weekend. You may not look fresh at work in the new office if you spend the whole weekend unpacking and storing items. Let the professional relocation service providers do it for you and you can think of other tasks that need to be done before you go to work.
So you are ready to make a change of residence and prepare for it. Changing your home can be very simple if you are planning well before moving your home. Here's the five-point checklist to help you get ready and move your home smoothly.
Prepare your family, your children and your belongings:
You know that we often think that if all your belongings are moved correctly, then you are done, but only the goods are not that you are going to change. When you move your house, it means a lot. There are a lot of emotions attached to your old home and you have to prepare your family and especially the children to feel comfortable in your new home. You should ideally take your children and family to your new home and let them feel happy about the space if possible.
This first part can be subjective to your own decision;this second part is somehow obligatory. Prepare a list of goods that you will move. There would be unused items, leave them, there are some useful items but the cost of their transport is almost equivalent to buying a new one, leave them. All I'm trying to say is prepare a list of goods you want to move. This list will help you hire packers and movers and, on that basis, you can even plan how to package them properly in your new home.
Hire Packers and Movers and Plan Your Packaging
The next step is to hire packers and movers who can help you with the change. When you hire packers and movers, be sure to talk to a few companies, do good negotiations, have everything written (estimates), make sure there are no hidden costs and most importantly they have their branch network in both locations.
Once you have a Packers and Movers company finalized, give them in advance and plan the date of packing, transportation, destination, offloading, etc. Stay in touch with them and remind them a day in advance according to the schedule.
Carry precious possessions and important documents with yourself:
It does not matter how your packers and movers will handle everything, but there are some things you should always carry with you like jewelry, your passport, ration card, pan cards and other valuable documents / agreements, etc.
Documentation and other things to do:
Make sure you start updating your mailing address, etc. according to your schedule. Make payments to local suppliers or guy services like milk supplier, newspaper vendors, dry cleaners and laundry services, etc.
Before leaving your house, be sure to clean your old house because someone else can come here to stay and make sure to leave the keys to someone who will take care of the property or the owner if it is a rented apartment.
General utility amenities:
Arrange the usual utility supplies like water, gas and electricity in your new home. You probably have already done that, but if you do not, do it.
Check and make sure your new home is clean and all amenities are available. You should also have keys with you.I hope these tips will be of great help to you as you move your home. Feel free to share your experience and other ideas that I could leave.
